Provost's Office
The Provost is the chief academic officer of the university. Academic Affairs is organized into four Colleges, twelve Schools, and eighteen
Departments. In addition to monitoring the academic programs, the Provost oversees the Division of Academic
Services, Regional Centers, Sponsored Programs, Information Technology, Public School Academies (charter
schools), and International Studies.
Maurice Walworth was appointed Provost in July 2010; previous to his appointment as Provost, Walworth
held the position of Dean of the College of Engineering, Technology and Economic Development for four years. He served previously as Chair is an Associate Professor of Engineering.

LSSU was one of five finalists that were invited to present papers at the conference. The other universities that were invited were: Cornell University, Michigan Tech, Air Force Academy, and University of Puerto Rico.
