Requesting a Transcript
To request a copy of your Lake Superior State University academic transcript, please print the Transcript Request Form. You will need to complete and sign this form, then mail or fax the form to the Registrar's Office. Our address and fax number are on the form. Transcript Request Forms can also be scanned and emailed to: firstname.lastname@example.org. We will only accept email requests where the completed and signed Transcript Request Form is attached. All transcript requests must contain the student's signature.
Transcript requests are normally processed within three to five business days.
Official transcripts are printed on security transcript paper and contain the University seal and the signature of the Registrar. Official transcripts mailed to the student or picked up by the student will be stamped "Issued to Student". Many institutions will only consider a transcript official if it is mailed directly from the issuing institution to their institution.
Unofficial transcripts are printed on white paper and contain the statement "Unofficial Transcript". Unofficial transcripts can be requested by completing our Transcript Request Form, or can be picked up at the Registrar's Office, located in the Fletcher Center for Student Services. Students picking up an unofficial transcript will need to present picture identification. The transcript will be prepared immediately, free of charge.
Students may also obtain a copy of their unofficial transcript online by logging into My.LSSU, then entering Anchor Access. Transcripts from Fall Semester 1992 to present are available. Students need to know their username and password. If you don't know your username and/or password, please print the Request for User Name or Password Reset Form, complete, then mail or fax to the Registrar's Office. Our fax number is on the form.
Only Unofficial transcripts can be faxed.
The very first transcript requested is free. After, each transcript (official, faxed unofficial, or mailed unofficial) costs $5.00. If more than 5 transcripts are ordered at one time, the charge is reduced to $1.00 per transcript for each transcript requested above the 5 original. As an example, 7 transcripts = $27.00 ($25.00 for the first 5, then $1.00 each for the additional 2). Transcripts will not be issued until payment is received.
Transcript requests for students with outstanding financial obligations to the University will not be processed until the obligation has been met.
