It’s easy to start your own! Student Clubs & Organizations
Alpha Phi Omega (AFW)
A national service fraternity (co-ed) with an emphasis on leadership and service.
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
This club gets involved with the engineering world through different activities and industrial tours.
Anchor House
This group is an ecumenical campus ministry. Website
Anime Club
This group shares a common interest in Japanese animation.
Assassins Guild
Members of this organization play an interactive, campus-wide “Assassins” game.

The chemistry club gives those interested in chemistry and the environmental sciences the chance to meet each other to plan activities related to our field and promote professional development
Chess Club
Students sharing a common interest in the game of chess.
Club Rugby
Club rugby team at LSSU. Competes primarily in Michigan.
College Republicans
This group shares and promotes the ideas pertaining to the Republican Party.
Criminal Justice/Fire Student Alliance (CJFSA)
CJFSA is a group of criminal justice and fire science majors and minors that gets together to build relationships with the professional world.
Ducks Unlimited
Students involved in this organization are dedicated to wetland conservation.
English & Communication Club
Our club brings English & Communication majors and minors together to discuss literature, and tries to bring a better appreciation of the English language to the LSSU campus.
Exercise Science Professionals
Students from the Exercise Science program explore career opportunities and participate in career related activities.
Fisheries and Wildlife Club
This club strives to give students an opportunity to gain field experience in fisheries and wildlife. Website

Geology Club
This group is for geology majors and minors, or anyone who is interested in geology. Every year this group takes a trip west to study geological formations. Website
Gay, Lesbian, or Whatever (GLOW)
A social support group for members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer community and their allies.
His House Christian Fellowship
This group is a Christian ministry for the campus community. We are a body of believers that work together to minister to students, and to help those who want to serve and minister to others.
IEEE (Institute for Electrical Electronic Engineers)
IEEE works with engineering students and the professional engineering world to build relationships and create fun and exciting projects. Website
Kuk Sool Won
A Martial Arts club dedicated to physical fitness and learning to Korean martial art of Kuk Sool Won. Along with regular classes, they participate in a wide variety of activities including tournaments and demonstrations. Website
Laker Leadership Honor Society
Founded on the principles of Omicron Delta Kappa, the organization not only recognizes outstanding collegiate leadership, but also encourages and fosters leadership through a variety of programs and service to the campus and community.
Lake State Student Nurses Association
A professional nurses organization that works to promote images of nursing through community activities such as blood drives, involvement with Cystic Fibrosis, the Salvation Army, the soup kitchen and more. They also participate in fun activities such as ice cream socials, Christmas parties and state conventions.
Lake State Theatre Company & Drama Club
Are you dramatic? If you said yes, then Lake State Theatre Company wants you! We are a drama group that is open to all LSSU students. We present at least one play every semester.
LSSU College Democrats of America
Share ideas and promote the Democratic Party.
LSSU Investment Club
Students involved in this organization learn about the field of investment through trading and investing in an open market.
LSSU Pep Band
Got Pep? Know how to play an instrument? Want to get in to Laker Hockey games for free? Then the LSSU Pep band wants you! All instruments are welcome. Come out and help the band build its base and get the crowd pumped up!
Men’s Club Hockey
Club hockey team for LSSU men. Compete mainly within the state of Michigan.
Native American Student Organization
Provide social and academic support for natives and non-natives. Website

We are a non-partisan student political group who try to promote political activism and awareness at LSSU.

For pre-medical majors who are interested in networking with other students and professionals.

Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)
Do you want to get into automotive engineering? Then SAE is for you! We offer networking with automotive professionals and cool projects that have to do with the automotive world.

This group promotes awareness of social issues.
Student Alumni Involved for Lake State (SAILS)
SAILS is a student organization whose number one goal is to make LSSU a better place to live and learn! We work closely with the President’s Office, Alumni Office, the LSSU Foundation, the Admissions Office and more. Email sails@lssu.edu for more information! Website
Student Athlete Advisory Committee
The LSSU SAAC is made up of representatives of all 11 LSSU varsity teams and provides a forum for the discussion of student-athlete concerns and a channel of communication to administrators through which these concerns can be heard.

Students in the athletic training program.
Students Enhancing Environmental Knowledge (SEEK)
Members of this organization strive to actively educate for environmental awareness.
Student Honors Organization
A club for students who are a part of the National Honors Society.

Students with a vision and looking to make a real contribution to campus related to educating and advocating on diversity issues.
Swim Club
Members share an interest in the recreational sport of non-competitive swimming.
Yoga Club
The purpose of the Yoga Club is to offer a place to practice yoga and gain a better understanding and peace through its teachings.

Delta Sigma Phi (DSF)

Lambda Sigma Beta (LSB)
LSB was founded in 1968 by seven Business Administration majors and is the oldest Greek organization at Lake State. Over 350 brothers have been initiated into the Fraternity over the years, and the current brothers work hard to keep their traditions alive at LSSU today.

We are an International Fraternity with organizations around the world.
Theta Xi (QX)
We are a strong brotherhood fraternity highly involved with Habitat for Humanity and Multiple Sclerosis.
