Intro to Excel
In this class you will learn the basic skills needed to work successfully in Excel. You will learn to enter and edit different kinds of data, how to add and delete extra columns and rows, or even how to create and add simple formulas. Basic keyboard and mouse skills are required.

If you would like to have a Website for fun or business, but don't know how to get started, this class will answer your basic questions about Website construction. Whether you're thinking of hiring someone else to do it for you or building it yourself, this class will cover various options and answer your questions in easy-to-understand terms.

Designed to help you build a solid understanding of features found in all versions of Microsoft Windows and Windows-based programs; you'll navigate menus and toolbars with confidence, master the mouse and cut/copy/paste like a pro. Learn how to save your data, surf the web, send an email, and burn CD’s!

Word
For those seeking further functionality in Microsoft Word, this course will introduce formatting tools to help you incorporate graphics and pictures into your documents. We'll work with templates; watermarks; tables and columns; section and page breaks; and borders and shading. We'll also insert your pictures and pull clipart from online sources. Word Basics or equivalent knowledge requested.

Grant Writing Made Easy!
Writing a grant for the first time can be a frustrating and overwhelming experience. Using common grant development formats, this workshop will proceed step-by-step through the development of a proposal with emphasis on the following:

  • how to identify and evaluate the most appropriate funding sources
  • how to research a problem
  • how to supply the documentation and statistics necessary for supporting a grant proposal

This workshop, intended for nonprofit staff or board members with little or no grant-writing experience, will give you the confidence and know-how to develop a successful grant proposal. Instructor:  Shauna Mauldin, LSSU
