Intro to Photography
This class will focus on understanding your camera, flash photography, natural light photography and the basics of digital files and storage.

Guitar Basics
You will learn the essential basics: chords, scales, notes, strumming with the primary focus on song accompaniment and melody. Anything you want to know can be learned in Q & A sessions. Release stress and enjoy socializing with others at the same time. Students must provide their own acoustic or electric guitar. Class size is limited to 12.

Community CPR and AED
This Community CPR and AED course teaches the basic techniques of CPR and the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator).  You will learn how to recognize the signs of four major emergencies:  heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, and foreign-body airway obstruction.

Adult Hockey Skills
Learn the basics of skating, shooting, and passing with the Laker Hockey Coaches as your instructors. Open to male and female participants and full hockey equipment is required.

Learn to Kayak!
This introductory course provides information about outfitting for kayaking, basic maneuvers, safety, skill development and rescues for flat water sea kayaking.   Class time will be spent poolside for theory, with a majority of instruction being in the pool practicing.  Course dynamics and small class size will allow students to be in a comfortable, fun environment while also providing a challenge to students individually.

Instructors will follow American Canoeing Association instructor guidelines for the basic sea kayaking course.  Class facilitated by Jessie Hadley of Woods and Water Ecotours.

  • Date and Time:  June 7 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. OR June 8 from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Included:  Kayaks and safety equipment provided.

Learn to Use GPS—Global Positioning System
The handheld Global Positioning System (GPS) has been described as the next true personal utility. Learn the basics of how to use these low-cost instruments that receive signals from satellites and allow you to pinpoint your location anywhere on the globe.  You will learn how the GPS system works, basic navigation, creating waypoints, routes 
and tracks, and using add-in software and maps.  GPS units available for class if needed.
