Built as officers' quarters, these stately
homes are now used for a variety of purposes. They include Ontario, Huron,
Chippewa and Laker Halls, which are housing for students, the LSSU honors
college and campus Greek organizations. The Native American Center (Eskoonwid
Endaad) occupies a building on the east end of the row and the Admissions
Office occupies scenic Hillside House.
On this serene Autumn morning you can see stately Huron Hall
in front you, it and the other red brick row houses were built
for the officers of the once Fort Brady. Moving to the right
you can catch a glimpse of Laker House and Chippewa House all
of these buildings are student residences and home to LSSU's
various Greek Organizations. As the scene pans right Brown Hall,
part of LSSU's music program, is visible in the background. Continuing right is the Kenneth J. Shouldice Library, and in the background
is Crawford Hall, not visible in this panorama is Brady Hall
the freshmen men's dormitory.
