Preparing high school students for success in college

Upward Bound is a program designed to provide academic experience for the purpose of preparing students for success in post-secondary education (colleges/universities).

Who is eligible?

  • Students, at least 13 years of age, with academic potential for post-secondary education who have completed the 8th grade and not yet entered the 12th grade.
  • Student who meet our federal guidelines for income level (1/3) of our students can be from any income level -or- Students whose parents have not earned a four-year college degree.
  • Students interested in personal and academic growth.
  • Students from the following school districts: Brimley, Pickford, Rudyard, Sault.

What is the cost?

Upward Bound is a federally funded program. There is no cost to students or their parents, and if the student maintains at least a 2.5 grade point average and meets all other obligations to the program, he or she will receive a monthly stipend (minimum of $25).
