BATTAGLIA MEANS BUSINESS -- Bates Battaglia, who played on the Laker hockey team from 1994-1997 and now is a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, was caught on the Nov. 26 cover of Forbes magazine. The issue includes some stories on the business of professional hockey and Battaglia's photo accompanied the stories. Battaglia is an 11-year pro who has played for the Leafs for the past two seasons. While at LSSU, he was named to the Central Collegiate Hockey Association All-Tournament Team in 1995 and was the CCHA's Best Defensive Forward in 1996.
