JUDGING GOOD JOE – Lake Superior State University students Sara McGavin, left, and Molly Huber sample contender beans for a custom coffee called, Laker Blend. LSSU's food service offered a smell and taste test last week to evaluate 20 types of coffees from six national coffee roasters. Storm Mountain Coffee of Steamboat Springs, Colo., won the honor to craft LSSU's namesake blend, which will be unveiled in October. The company's founder is LSSU alumna Julie Spitzley ('96). Laker Blend will be served at all campus eateries and sold in bags through LSSU's Galley, Norris Center, and eventually on-line. (LSSU/John Shibley)
