SAULT STE. MARIE, MICH. –The Lake Superior State University Arts Center, in partnership with the Lock City International Highland Dance Competition, is proud to present "Celtic Experience, a Showcase of Dance and Music," at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, in the Art Center. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $5 for LSSU students, $10 for the general public, and include the Lock City International Choreography Competition, amazing performances from Scottish Highland Dance Studios across Ontario and Michigan, as well as local musical talents.
"This is a great opportunity to see performances from other studios and appreciate the different styles of each choreographer and our talented youth," says Catherine MacLeod, organizer of the Lock City International Choreography Competition.
Featured artist for the evening is Daniel Carr, the 2009 World Championship Silver Medalist. Also performing is Webb Surround (a musical family variety show), pipers and drummers, and Scottish Highland dancers from Ontario, Michigan, and Illinois.
Special guest judge for the events is Joyce Kite, Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing judge and director, Scottish Dance Company of Canada.
