GREAT LAKE BARBECUE – Lake Superior State University students and their families help themselves to some of the 1,200-plus burgers and hotdogs that were grilled up during the Great Lake State Weekend (GLSW) tailgate party on Oct 17. The party in LSSU's Norris Center filled Cooper Gym with carnival games, campus information tables, and live music. Meanwhile, women's tennis hosted a conference meet against Michigan Tech in the connecting Student Activities Center. It was all part of Alumni's 16th-annual GLSW and the Admissions office's "Fall Fling" event that invited 440-plus prospective students and their families to campus. (LSSU/John Shibley)

More than a thousand students, parents, alumni, and visitors descended upon campus for hockey and women's tennis home games, alumni award and sports hall of fame banquets, and Fall Fling, a get-acquainted session for prospectives.
