SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – During a ceremony on Friday, Oct 16, Lake Superior State University inducted 29 upperclassmen into Alpha Chi, a collegiate national honor society that recognizes students for their outstanding academic scholarship.
These students represent the top 10% of the junior and senior classes. The ceremony, held in the Walker Cisler Student and Convention Center on campus, was conducted by LSSU Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Anthony Blose PhD, Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Humanities and faculty sponsor, Jason Swedene PhD, and Frederick Michels EdD, dean of LSSU Academic Services.
"It is a great thing for Alpha Chi and the LSSU community to publicly applaud these students' successful pursuits of truth and their strong characters, which will surely have an impact on environments far beyond LSSU," said Swedene, who directs the LSSU Honors Program.
