MERITORIOUS EXPLORATIONS – Lake Superior State University student Amanda Hall demonstrates a simple chemical reaction, and low-impact balloon inflating, to members of Brownie Troop 5140 from Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. More than 60 girl scouts joined with students and faculty in LSSU's chapter from the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) for a science merit badge workshop on March 13. Hall, an electrical engineering major from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., is SWE chapter president and was co-organizer of the event. (LSSU/Sean O'Mara)
