First National Bank of St. Ignace makes South Hall capital campaign gift

Posted: July 14th, 2012

CAPITAL INVESTMENT – First National Bank of St. Ignace President and CEO James North, left, presents a symbolic $10,000 check to Lake Superior State University Foundation Executive Director Tom Coates for LSSU's South Hall renovation project. The state of Michigan essentially matches $3 for every dollar that LSSU raises towards the $12 million project, which will house the University's School of Business and Center for Entrepreneurship after 2014. "First National Bank has been a strong partner with LSSU since the late 1980s, helping high school graduates from the EUP attain the goal of a post-secondary education," says Coates. "Renovation of the South Hall academic building is the next step in providing exciting, new educational opportunities for high school graduates from Mackinac and Luce counties." First National's $10,000 pledge secures them an opportunity to name the department chair’s office in the School of Business' new home. (LSSU/John Shibley)
