Summer campers get some EMS action

Posted: August 3rd, 2012

THIS IS ONLY A TEST – Sault, Michigan, Fire Department first-responders wheel Sandra Moto out to an ambulance during a mass casualty exercise at Lake Superior State University on August 2. LSSU's health care center and campus security teamed up with War Memorial Hospital and city emergency services for the spot drill, which simulated ten victims with unexplained nausea and abdominal pain. Students from Detroit's Advanced Technology Academy, on campus this week for a technology camp, were the patients. LSSU School of Nursing professor Jamiee Gerrie and Shelli Arnold, War Memorial's patient care coordinator for emergency services, jointly coordinated the exercise. (LSSU/John Shibley)
