SPINNING KNOWLEDGE INTO CASH – Lake Superior State University students sift through Prof. James Moody's office for obscure facts and figures to include in a "Smarty Pants" Trivia Challenge, sponsored by Prof. Val Philips' Sports and Events Marketing Class on Nov. 19 at the Ojibway Ramada Plaza Hotel. Team registration starts in the Shouldice Library this week: 10 a.m.-noon, Nov. 6 and 8; 2-4 p.m., Nov. 13 and 15. Teams may be four to six people, and the cost to enter is $40 per team. The winning team will get a cash prize of $200 and second- and third-place finishers will get prizes, too. The event, open to anyone over the age of 21, begins at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 19 at the Ojibway. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. If the competition makes you hungry or thirsty, you'll be able to order off the menu. Proceeds will be donated to the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) in appreciation of its involvement with LSSU students and in support of the DDA's efforts to revitalize the downtown core.
