Posted: February 8th, 2013
ENTREPRENEUR-IN-RESIDENCE – Lake Superior State University's College of Business & Engineering launched a new Entrepreneur-in-Residence lecture program on Feb. 4-5 that featured speaker Adil Shafi, president of Advenovation Inc. of Rochester Hills. The company works with numerous businesses and institutions throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Japan. In his many years of involvement with the manufacturing automation industry, Shafi has worked with Chrysler’s Stow-n-Go mini-van program and the US Air Force F-35 fighter jet program, and he wrote specifications for some of the robotic fabrication processes for the heat shield for NASA’s Orion spacecraft, a candidate to replace the space shuttle. Shafi's four public sessions provided insights into 14 distinct topics that dealt with launching and growing a business from scratch.
