Redefining the Classroom

Student artist offers award-winning lilacs!

Posted: April 2nd, 2013

(REAL) APRIL LILACS – Lake Superior State University fine arts student Trevor Freeman poses with his acrylic that placed second in the 2013 Mackinac Island Lilac Festival Fine Arts Poster contest. Freeman's Great Lakes-themed paintings and prints are on display in the Kenneth Shouldice Library gallery through April 6 during regular library hours. He joins other LSSU art students next week in the library and LSSU Arts Center galleries for a benefit show against cancer. Freeman is also showing his work April 2-26 at Alberta House, 217 Ferris St., Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. After May 3, he begins work at the Lilacs and Lace Art Gallery of Mackinac Island, who also brokers his paintings. Run a Web search on "LSSU visual arts" for information about that program at Lake State. Freeman is a junior in fine arts studies from Corunna, Mich. (LSSU/John Shibley)
