Redefining the Classroom

Student exhibit space opens in Arts Center gallery

Posted: April 23rd, 2013

EXPANDED VENUE – Lake Superior State University adjunct art professor Maureen Mousley (center) and student intern Crystal Drake (right) introduce a newly opened exhibit space for student works in LSSU's Arts Center gallery to University archivist and librarian Mary June. The devoted student section joins Native American and American West art from the L. F. Noyes Collection, which has been on permanent display since the Center's 2005 dedication. Pieces created by students in mixed media, designing color, and marbling courses will be on display there and in the Kenneth Souldice library gallery through summer, with works rotating between venues. Arts Center gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, noon – 4 p.m. The gallery also opens one hour before scheduled performances. Crystal Drake is a psychology senior from Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
