East Gate regains its Statement of Purpose . . .

Posted: August 5th, 2013

SIGN FOR OUR TIMES – Lake Superior State University's Foundation Executive Director Tom Coates and President Tony McLain (l-r, both on right) unveil a restored sign that once again graces the university's East Gate College Drive entrance. President Kenneth Shouldice installed the sign during his 1965-82 tenure as a statement of purpose for LSSU students. Looking on from left are former continuing education director Laurine Kelly; Social Sciences Emeritus Tom Kelly; Margaret Money, wife of late History Emeritus Robert Money; Political Science Emeritus William "Doc" Castor; and History Professor Daniel Dorrity, whose continuing LSSU tenure reaches back more than 50 years.
