Nursing alums at War Memorial need your vote!

Posted: November 2nd, 2013

BROADWAY BOUND – War Memorial Hospital staff — 16 of which are Lake Superior State University alums — flash pink surgical gloves in hopes of winning a national breast cancer awareness video contest. They joined more than 120 others at War Memorial Hospital to produce a homespun "Pink Glove" dance submission that is going head-to-head with other hospitals, nursing homes, schools and other organizations from throughout the U.S. and Canada. The top three winners, determined by viewer votes, receive donations in their name to a breast cancer charity of their choice, such as the American Cancer Society. Go to and look for War Memorial Hospital to view the video and pack the ballot box. Voting ends Nov. 8. Standing in the back row from left are Debbie Zabelka, Nancy Lightfoot, Gen Mackie, Lindsey Gregg, Hillary Galarowic, Julie Coneset, and Sheila Huhtala. Seat in the middle/front row from left are Kelly Dane, Susan Sliger, Katie Wood, Danielle Postma, James Vollick, Rebecca Alcorn, Svetlana Baumann, Carrie Horton, and Sandra DePlonty.
