Laker athletes supporting health issues for men in Movember

SAULT STE. MARIE - If you notice the Laker hockey team appears to be a bit unkept, it's not that they think it's already time for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Members of the LSSU hockey team are growing mustaches in support of "Movember," a fun campaign to create awareness of men's health issues.
Coming on the heels of another great Pink in the Rink campaign, LSSU senior goaltender Kevin Kapalka has created a web site to which funds can be donated to Movember in the name of a Laker with the best mustache.
Movember's goal is to generate funds for men's health programs and promote conversations about men's health that lead to greater awareness and understanding of the health risks men face. It also hopes to educate men who are ill about what they can do and how they can take action.
More than 1.1 million "Mos" are registered worldwide and have raised $147 million for men's health. The program includes the "Moscars" and a hall of fame. College students raised more than $81,000 in 2012.
