LAKERS INVADE NLA -- Members of the Alpena community pose on ice on Oct. 26, when Alpena Public Schools, Alpena Community College and Lake Superior State University put together a day of ice, academics and athletics at Northern Lights Arena.

The day featured hockey clinics, followed by a Laker hockey scrimmage and a variety of academic information and presentations from representatives of ACC and LSSU. The program was open to students of all grades as well as their families.

Following the scrimmage and academic presentations, participants were able to enjoy ice skating, and members of the LSSU team met students during a spaghetti dinner. Neiman's Family Market of Alpena sponsored the free skating party. Also during the dinner, LSSU Athletics Director Kris Dunbar spoke about how students can prepare themselves for college studies and athletics. -LSSU-
