Touch of brass, less scorched

Posted: July 30th, 2014

HIGH, BRIGHT, AND COOL – Easton Farrell, right, ekes out a high note with fellow musicians Seth Patterson and Brandon Nulands (left) during Grayling marching band's annual practice camp on July 29 at Lake Superior State University. Leading the low-brass section is Grayling staffer James Clark. Two marching bands from lower Michigan are slated to spend weeklong sessions during August at LSSU in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., where daytime temps average 20° cooler than downstate. (LSSU/John Shibley )
