Former state corrections director speaks to law class

CORRECTIONS PERSPECTIVE – Lake Superior State University alumna Patricia Caruso speaks to Prof. Carol Andary’s correctional law class on Nov. 3 about trends in corrections legal issues. Caruso is a consultant who works throughout the United States, drawing upon more than 25 years of experience in corrections. She served as director of the Michigan Department of Corrections 2003-11, overseeing a system of 32 prisons that housed 44,000 prisoners and supervised 58,000 probationers and 20,000 parolees. Caruso (’75) was the recipient of the LSSU Outstanding Alumna Award in 1997. (LSSU/John Shibley)
