OVERHEAD BOOM - Lake Superior State University student actors Michael Oakes (as 'Jules,' plaid, left) and Tomantha Sylvester (as 'Barbara,' right, at drums) launch into a Feb 14 dress rehearsal of the off beat comedy boom. Fifty-five audience members join actors up on the LSSU Arts Center Main stage for productions at 7 p.m., Feb. 15-18. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door, or online ahead of time here. Run a web search on "NYTimes boom Ars Nova" to read an Off-Broadway review in the New York Times. Oakes (from Corunna, Mich.) is a Fine Arts Studies major with concentrations in theatre, writing, and web design and management. Sylvester (Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.) is in General Studies with concentrations in business and fine art. Not pictured is student actress Paige King (Oakley, Mich.; General Studies, theater/fine art), who portrayed 'Jo.'
