SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. -- Alumni of the Lake Superior State University women's basketball program are invited to a 'mini-reunion' on Feb. 15 as the Lakers host U.P. rival Northern Michigan University.

"We would love to honor those who have helped build this program into a well-respected, national contender. It will be a great opportunity to meet the players of today and wish them well," said Head Coach Kris Dunbar '92.

In honor of the occasion, there will be a tailgate party hosted by Student Alumni Involved for Lake State (SAILS) from noon-5 p.m., before and during the afternoon doubleheader. The women play at 1 p.m.; the men play at 3 p.m. in the Cooper Gym. A reception for all Laker basketball alumni will follow the men's game at Moloney's Alley.

During the tailgate party, which is free to all fans with game tickets, SAILS will serve up hot dogs, cookies and lemonade. The members will also be selling tickets for a 50/50 drawing that will benefit Laker for a Day, a program that matches up underprivileged children with a SAILS member and LSSU athletes.

If you are able to attend the reunion, please call 906-635-2625 or 635-2638 or send e-mail to or –LSSU-
