Data Science!!

A phenomenal new Bachelors of Data Science degree arrives in 2022! This new interdisciplinary degree has a core curriculum that leads to 7 different specializations, allowing the degree to be tailored to the student’s interests.

As a student in the BS Data Science program, you can pursue one or more concentrations in:

  • Bioinformatics
  • Business Analytics
  • Chemistry Informatics
  • Geosystems Modeling
  • Health Informatics
  • Robotics
  • Spatial Analytics

Each specialization builds upon the core courses and, where available, application-specific statistics courses. Specializations enable graduates of this program to pursue the creation of, analysis of, and use of data-driven knowledge to influence the decisions of businesses, of communities, and of national/international policy-makers. Data is the 21st century’s power!

Computer Science

Career projection outlooks have stated that Computer Science will be in high demand for many years to come.

Computer science and software-related careers continue to dominate the top careers in Forbes, US New and World Report, and most other top-20 lists in both job satisfaction and salaries.

All computing majors complete both a one-term sophomore project and a two-term senior capstone project/internship.

Recent graduates from the program have been finding jobs in a variety of settings. The degree is intended to prepare students for work as a software engineer, a software designer, an applications developer, or a software architect.

Computer Networking

The career outlook for Computer Networking professionals is excellent as tracked and predicted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, US News and World Report, and virtually every other source of career rankings with respect to salary and job satisfaction.

Very few U.S. universities and colleges offer a 4-year degree in computer networking, especially one that provides students hands-on experience with a variety of hardware and software platforms. This degree gives students the knowledge and tools necessary to be successful in the field of computer networking.

Upon graduation our students accept positions as network administrators, network analysts/designers/programmers, system administrators, technical sales, and database administrators.

Mathematics

If you are pursuing a college degree in mathematics, you are well on your way to one of the best jobs in America today. Mathematician, actuary, and statistician rank as the top three occupations in the country, according to an article published in US News.

This is great news for our math majors. Over the years, mathematics alumni have experienced fantastic opportunities in graduate programs and in satisfying careers.
