Faculty Information Regarding Audio Taping of Class Lectures
To Our Faculty.
Any student authorized to audio record your class lectures will have agreed to, and signed, the following Accessibility Services agreement:
Audio Taping of Class Lectures
Accessibility Services, where appropriate, may recommend that a student with a qualifying disability be permitted to audiotape/audio record class lectures as a form of academic accommodation. Use of the accommodation of audio taping class lectures is subject to the following conditions:
Recordings of class lectures are only for the student’s personal use in study and preparation related to the class.
The student may not share these recordings with any other person, whether or not that person is in his/her class.
The student acknowledges that the recordings are sources, the use of which in any academic work is governed by rules of academic conduct for his or her School or College.
The student agrees to destroy any recordings that were made when they are no longer needed for his/her academic work.

English as a Second Language Students
Please note that English as a Second Language (ESL) or English Limited Learner (ELL) students are NOT considered disabled under ADA or any other federal laws. Therefore, Accessibility Services will not accommodate them as if they were disabled.
Other Useful Information for LSSU Faculty Members
Accessibility Services, a part of Academic Services, wishes to share with you general procedures that take place and some that may take place during the semester.
Infrared cameras are installed in testing rooms.
AS has limited ability to back-up testing video. Requests for backup video for a particular day must be received within two (2) weeks of the tests date. Just call AS at 906-635-2802 for this service.
A secure test drop box is available on the wall between the doors of Library 101 and Library 102 for test drop off and is available anytime the Library is open.
AS has posted its testing rules and warnings regarding possible consequences of cheating in several locations.
AS student workers may not handle tests from a course which he or she is taking – or is likely to take. If you come to the office to drop off tests and finds that the staff member is not in the room but a student worker is, you are advised to drop the test in the secure drop box.
An AS staff member or an AS student worker will hand deliver your test to your departmental office mailbox.
Professors may pick up their own completed tests anytime AS is open.
ID badges are issued to AS student workers and are used to identify student workers for the faculty.
