From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler

Friday, November 17th, 2017 at 10:30 AM and 1 PM

Claudia may not know exactly why she is running away, but she does know that she wants to come back different.  Mrs. Frankweiler, who shares this desire for distinction, grants her wishes by giving her a share in a very special secret.  The major themes of this show are growing up and the search for one’s own identity.  Just as Claudia is tired of being defined by her status as a child and her home in the suburbs, Mrs. Frankweiler refuses to fade into the background as an elderly widow.  Their encounter allows them both to gain clearer perspective on who they are and who they want to be.

Shh! We Have a Plan

Thursday, March 15th, 2018 at 10 AM and 1 PM

A nonverbal tale featuring magic, music, and puppetry based on the Chris Haughton book of the same name. Follow the delightful and surprising journey of a family adventuring through the woods – when they see a beautiful bird perched high in a tree, each of these three madcap characters have a plan to capture it! Sounds simple, but the quest soon becomes an obsession and the obsession becomes the absurd! Where will it all end? Join us as the youngest teaches everyone that kindness and treating nature with respect is more important than getting what you want at any cost.
