RobotX Club and Senior Project
RobotX is a relatively new student club at Lake Superior State University that has been formed to compete in the Maritime RobotX and Roboboat Challenges. For more information on these competitions, please visit the official RobotX website. In Fall 2022, they competed in Sydney Australia, finishing 6th out of 19 teams from all across the world!
A brief description of the Senior Project team that designed, built, and tested the original system is given below. Since then, two more teams and the RobotX club have continued their work. Team AMORE (Autonomous Maritime Operations and Robotics Engineering) built an Autonomous Maritime System (AMS) that is composed of a 16-foot long Wave Adaptive Modular Vessel (WAM-V) unmanned surface vehicle (USV) and an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) / drone.
