Faculty Center for Teaching (FCT)
At the Faculty Center for Teaching, faculty are able to share experiences and knowledge with colleagues with the purpose of improving instruction and advising. Learning communities of practice, or teaching circles, help facilitate this communication. In addition to improving your practice, faculty
members have the opportunity to gain internal certification in areas such as Advising and in Enhancing Student Learning. The 2015-16 school year currently has four active learning communities. Anyone is welcome to join in on these discussions.
If you are interested in started a new learning community, just contact a member of the FCT Work Group to get the ball rolling.
In 2013, as part of a Title III proposal, the LSSU Faculty Center for Teaching was established with the goal of providing resources for faculty to improve teaching.
