CAEP Accreditation Status and Reviewed Programs
The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) has fully accredited the LSSU teacher preparation programs listed below with the exception of the elementary teaching programs with grade band concentrations. The elementary grade band concentrations were created since the last accreditation visit from CAEP in response to new Michigan standards for preparing teachers and the new programs will be evaluated by CAEP in the future. The next CAEP visit will be in April 2025.
Current LSSU teacher education programs:
- Early Childhood Education teaching with grade band concentration in birth-Kindergarten.
- Elementary Education with grade band concentrations in prekindergarten through third grade (lower elementary) and third through sixth grade (upper elementary). Future and current teachers may also earn an endorsement in special education Learning Disabilities.
- Secondary Education in English Language Arts, Math, Integrated Science, and Social Studies. Future and current teachers may also earn an endorsement in special education Learning Disabilities.
