For Faculty Interested in Studying Abroad

Consider planning a study abroad opportunity for students

International experiences are increasingly important for success in today’s global society. Students frequently report that their international travel experiences have been life-changing. If you would like to lead a group of LSSU students abroad for course credit, you are invited to submit a proposal.

The study abroad short term program proposal begins with discussing your program ideas with your department and Dean. The Provost’s Office will make all final determinations but early discussions are encouraged. Preliminary proposal forms should be submitted at least two semesters prior to the start date, preferably earlier. Early approvals allow students sufficient time to plan the program into their next academic year as well allowing them to plan financially. This extra time also allows the Study Abroad Office and faculty more time to promote their programs.

An Excel budget template is also available below to be used in preparing your proposed budget. All budgets should be discussed with your Dean before submitting your proposals are submitted to the Provost.
