Gallery Exhibit: The Cultural Significance and History of “The Jingle Dress”

NEA Big Read managed by Arts Midwest arts.gov/neabigreadLake Superior State University is a recipient of a grant to host the National Endowment for the Arts Big Read at Lake Superior State University. An Arts Endowment initiative in partnership with Arts Midwest, the NEA Big Read broadens our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book. Lake Superior State University is one of 84 nonprofit organizations selected to receive an NEA Big Read grant to support a community reading program between September 2020 and June 2021. The NEA Big Read at Lake Superior State University Library will focus on The Round House, by Louise Erdrich.

In connection with the Big Read, the LSSU Library’s Art Gallery will feature an exhibit on “The Cultural Significance and History of The Jingle Dress” by Tomantha Sylvester.  The Library’s Gallery is open during the Library’s regular scheduled hours: Sunday 10am-9pm; Monday – Thursday 7:30am-Midnight; Friday 7:30am-9pm; Saturday 10am-9pm.
