From all the artistic traditions of Tantric Buddhism, that of painting with colored sand ranks as one of the most unique and exquisite. In Tibetan this art is called dul-tson-kyil-khor, which literally means "mandala of colored powders." The lamas will begin the work on Monday at 1 PM by drawing an outline of the mandala on the wooden platform, followed by the laying of the colored sands, which is effected by pouring the sand from traditional metal funnels called chak-purs.…

This is the last chance to see the Mandala Sand Painting before it is swept away and brought the St. Mary's River following the closing ceremony. Also on display is the photo exhibit “Tibet- Magical Land of Spiritual Wonder.” This features 21 stunning photos of Tibetan culture. No cost and open to the public.
