SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – Lake Superior State University students are manning phones to ask alumni and friends for support of the Fund for LSSU. The Fund for LSSU provides dollars for financial aid programs to assist deserving LSSU students.
This year the campaign focuses on friends of the university who have supported the fund in the past, as well as new donors who want to join the cause. Student callers are up to the challenge.
“We’re excited to reach out to alumni. The Fund for LSSU is very important for current and future students,” says Tracy Hammond, who is coordinating the effort for LSSU's Foundation Office. “LSSU’s important to all of our callers and we hope that alumni will respond to our enthusiasm.”
Last year’s Phonathon campaign garnered more than $30,000. Hopes are to set new standards for giving at a time when the need for scholarships and financial aid has never been greater.
