Running for the Law

Description: Everyone is invited to lace up his running shoes when students in Prof. Valerie Philips' Sports and Events Marketing class host "Run for the Law," a 5K run/walk to benefit The Thin Blue Line of Michigan. Campus and community members may support the cause by running or walking a course that begins at 10 a.m. on campus at LSSU's Crawford Hall of Science. The students are also seeking volunteers who would work the event from 9-11 a.m. The run/walk will benefit The Thin Blue Line of Michigan, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to families of ill, disabled or deceased members of the law enforcement community, which also includes firefighters, dispatchers, corrections, EMT, EMS and administrative clerks. The organization provides support in the areas of financial, legal, benefit recovery, counseling, funeral and college stipends, medical costs, medical equipment and more. All ages are welcome.
