Laker Fridays are an opportunity for LSSU alumni, students, employees, friends and area businesses to show their support of Lake Superior State University by donning LSSU colors and apparel. Whether it's a blue suit coat, a gold sweater, a Laker hoodie or a pair of Laker anchor earrings, put it on come Friday, because every Friday is Laker Friday.
Today is the deadline to compete in LSSU's first indoor triathlon! All LSSU students, faculty and staff are eligible to compete in the event, which starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. This will be a team event with each team made up of three athletes, each athlete completing one leg of the the triathlon. The event will consist of a 600-meter swim (24 lengths of the pool), a 10-mile bike ride and a 2-mile run. The first heat, consisting of 5 teams, will start at 11 a.m. and each additional heat will start every hour afterwards. The team with the fastest overall time wins. Prizes will be given to the top three teams - $50 gift cards from Apple, Dunham's and Walmart. Grab a team roster form outside the LSSU Intramural Office in the SAC. Come out and compete against your fellow Lakers and see whose team reigns supreme.

Seniors in biogical sciences will be presenting poster sessions on the results of their senior thesis research projects today, followed by oral presentations on Saturday, Dec. 1. Everyone is welcome.
To top off Holiday Week, head over for a sleigh/wagon rides. We'll be starting off outside of Barnes and Noble LSSU. There will also be judging for a beard competition, so show off that skill from No-Shave November. The Philanthropy Club will be supplying hot cocoa and cookies. The treats are free, but donations for the club are greatly appreciated. It's also Customer Appreciation Day at Barnes and Noble!
The Seamore Shuttle is a free service provided by the LSSU Campus Life Office that takes LSSU students downtown and to places on the business spur such as Family Video, Big Lots and other stores in the Sault Plaza, as well as Varsity Cinemas. Pick-up and drop-off is at the Walker Cisler Center. Shuttle runs from 6-10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 1-10:30 p.m. on Sunday.
