Alum Success

Andrea Cripps

"I worked with many great athletes and coaches, allowing me the opportunity to gain experience and confidence that without, I wouldn’t be where I am today. LSSU not only gave me my undergraduate education but I gained lifelong friends and connections that will go with me in whatever endeavor that I attempt. Athletic Training at LSSU changed my life and changed my goal in life for the better. "

Admission must be complete prior to attending orientation.

Spring Orientation:

Friday, December 4, 2009 or
Friday, January 8, 2010

Spring classes will begin on Monday, January 11, 2010.

Click here for Important Dates & Deadlines.

During orientation you will:

  • Learn important policies and procedures that will help you succeed in your academic career.
  • Learn about the numerous university services that are available to you as an LSSU student.
  • Register for fall semester courses.
  • Have your picture taken and receive your Laker ID card.
  • Register your vehicle and receive your parking permit (if applicable).

Course Registration

  • Academic representatives will assist you in planning and registering for fall semester courses.
  • Course placement in English and mathematics is determined by your highest ACT/SAT scores, unless you have transfer credits for these content areas. You may challenge your course placement one time by taking LSSU's placement exams.
  • Cross-reference your ACT/SAT scores to the LSSU placement chart to determine course placement.
  • It is important to complete all exams prior to orientation.

Placement Exams

Exams will be offered prior to orientation. Seating is limited and advanced registration is required.

If you would like to take placement exams prior to December 4 or January 8, please contact Testing Services to schedule an appointment.

Sign up for placement exams if ...

  • You want to challenge your course placement.
  • You do not have ACT/SAT scores, COMPASS® scores* or transfer credit in these content areas.

*LSSU uses the COMPASS® testing instrument for placement exams.  COMPASS® exams are available at numerous community colleges and universities. If you are interested in taking the exams closer to home, contact Testing Services for detailed information and a location near you.
