On Saturday, April 20th at 1pm, the Lake Superior State University Theater Department will be hosting its first Monologue Competition open to all LSSU students. The guidelines are simple: prepare two contrasting monologues from theatrical plays (no film or TV) that combined do not go over 3 minutes.
You may be asking yourself some of the following questions: How do I memorize these pieces? How do I transition from one piece to the next? What makes the two monologues โcontrastingโ? Not to worry, on Saturday, March 30th at 1pm, Adam St. John (Assistant Professor of Theatre and a professional actor with Actorโs Equity) will be leading a workshop that goes all you need to know about auditioning and preparing/delivering monologues.
