Undergraduate Scholarships

LSSU students can apply for foundation scholarships available through one of the scholarship sign-up periods held each fall and spring. The scholarships available during each sign-up period are based on available funding and/or donor request. To be considered a CURRENT student, you must have earned at least 26 LSSU credits, but not attempted more than 124 (including transfer credits) prior to the semester. Information for students can be found through the Financial Aid Office.

Dow AgroSciences Scholarship

NIH Undergraduate Scholarships

For outstanding students from disadvantaged backgrounds or underrepresented groups. Up to $20,000 per year of scholarship support, plus a 10-week summer internship at the National Institutes of Health for each year of scholarship, plus one year of employment at NIH upon graduation.

The Siemens Building Technologies Scholarships

Siemens, through its Landis Division, has a Foundation that gives a million dollars in scholarships and grants each year.

ACS Scholars Program (Scholarships for African American, Hispanic, and American Indian students)

About the ACS Scholars Program

ACS awards renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students who want to enter the fields of chemistry or chemistry-related fields. Awards of up to $5,000* are given to qualified students. African American, Hispanic, or American Indian high school seniors or college freshman, sophomores, or juniors pursuing a college degree in the chemical sciences or chemical technology are eligible to apply.

Applications are accepted November 1 through May 1.

Northern Biomedical Research - Research Associate (posted 11/18/2021)

Necropsy Technicians are primarily responsible for necropsy support services such as necropsy set up, necropsy record review, perfusion, prosection of tissues/organs, tissue trimming, tissue/organ accountabilities, and maintaining necropsy equipment. If the workload is such that Necropsy Technicians are not busy with necropsy, they will be required to perform other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to in-life, surgery, and clinical functions.

Job Description Role and Responsibilities

The Necropsy Technician II role will include:

· Necropsy set up (paperwork and physical set up)

· Necropsy data review

· Note taking

· Euthanasia

· Perfusion of tissues

· Prosection of tissues/organs (at a minimum, rodents, canine, and NHP)

· Tissue trimming

· Tissue/organ accountabilities

· Specialty collections (e.g DRG and spinal cord collections)

· Training and supervision of non-necropsy personnel

· Stocking standard and specialized necropsy supplies

· Laboratory solution and fixative preparation

· Maintaining cleanliness of necropsy suites

· IV Catheterizations & Injections

· Sample collection and processing

· Maintenance of necropsy equipment

· Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends; sometimes on short notice

Care By Design Health and Wellness Market - Retail Associate (posted 1/21/21)

properly with little to no supervision at times.
While it is important for you to already have a base knowledge in the Cannabis industry, we will also
give you some training to be as successful as you can be in our company.
