Distinguished Teaching Award (2018)
Geology Professor Dr. Paul Kelso (right) accepts the LSSU Distinguished Teaching Award from LSSU Provost David Roland Finley (left).
In recognition ofย of his superior skills in the classroom and academia, the longtime geology professor was chosen to receive the Distinguished Teaching Award. Dr. Paul Kelso has been with LSSU since 1993.
Outstanding Alumni Award (2016)
Alumni Dr. Todd Fritch (Center) accepts the outstanding Alumni Award with Dr. Paul Kelso (Left) and Dr. Lew Brown (Right).
Dr. Todd Fritch graduated from LSSU with a Geology degree in 1993 and received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Geology from Baylor University. He is a former Provost of the American International College and currently is the Vice President in Business Development at Shorelight Education. Dr. Fitch also established a Geology Scholarship at LSSU in memory of his grandparents, Norma & Weldon Fritch.
Michigan Distinguished Professor (2011)

Outstanding Alumni Award (2007)
Geology Alumni James Knight graduated from the LSSU Earth Science program in 1957. Knight was a major driving force behind the establishment and development of the Kemp Mineral Resources Museum. He is also a retired Executive Vice President of Gannet Fleming, Inc.

Donations of equipment and funds are happily accepted by the LSSU Geology Program! Special requests can be met on a case to case basis.
All cash donations can be placed directly through the LSSU Foundation.
