Health/Fitness Specialist

Program Overview

The Health and Fitness Associates Degree prepares students with the requisite knowledge for work in the Health and Fitness Field. Students can use this as a stand-alone degree or continue into or with the Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology. Also, as an associate degree, students who enroll in this program may be eligible for TIP funding.

Career Paths – The Health and Fitness Associates Degree can prepare students for Major Certifications in the Health and Wellness field for Group Fitness and even Entry Level Fitness Management positions. Nationally recognized organizations offer certifications that the Health and Fitness Associates Degree prepares individuals for. Some of these include:

  • National Strength and Conditioning Association – Certified Personal Trainer
  • National Strength and Conditioning Association – Tactical Athlete Trainer
  • National Academy of Sports Medicine – Certified Personal Trainer
  • American College of Sports Medicine – Certified Personal Trainer
  • American Council on Exercise – Certified Personal Trainer

These are certifications that individuals can earn without the need for a 4-year degree.
