The Lukenda School of Business (LSB) offers seven bachelor degree programs and three associate degree programs. LSB students comprise approximately 15% of LSSU’s total enrollment. The LSB is proud of the high-quality instruction and personal attention it provides students through small class sizes and interaction between students and faculty. The LSB also provides opportunities outside of the classroom for students to grow academically and professionally through capstone projects, student organizations, internships and community outreach.
- LSSU is located in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan and borders Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario – for a combined population of 100,000.
- Small class sizes allow a personal learning experience.
- The rigorous business curriculum meets the educational requirements of various professional certifications and prepares students for graduate study as well.

Accreditation
The Lukenda School of Business at Lake Superior State University has been granted initial accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), a leading accreditation association in business education. ACBSP accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes within LSSU’s School of Business meet the rigorous educational standards established by ACBSP. The programs accredited are LSSU’s Bachelor of Science programs for accounting, business administration-entrepreneurship, business administration-international business, business administration-management, and business administration-marketing.
Certifications
The Lukenda School of Business provides opportunities for students to prepare for and obtain the following certifications while enrolled at LSSU:
- Certified Management Accountant
- Certified Financial Analyst
- Society for Human Resource Management Assurance of Learning

This is a very exciting time for the Lukenda School of Business. We’re now firmly poised to take our already strong program to the next level, with a high-tech, state-of-the-art facility to support our efforts. With so many of our graduates garnering leadership positions in northern Michigan and Ontario companies, the completed R.W. Considine Hall will support sustainable economic development throughout the region for many years to come.
