Admitted Students

Congratulations on your acceptance to Lake Superior State University! Below are some next steps to take in preparation to start your semester. If you have questions about any of the steps, please reach out to a friendly admissions representative at 906.635.2231 or .

Summer Semester begins on May 10, 2021

  • Register for an Orientation

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are not able to schedule the orientation dates and activities until we are closer to the semester start dates. Emails and social media updates will be provided when plans can be finalized. Please also check back to this page in the future as well.

At Orientation, you will be able to:

    • Meet with an academic representative and register for classes.
    • Attend the Resource Fair and connect with a student group before you even start classes.
    • Spend the day getting to know your new classmates and LSSU’s campus.
  • Submit your Enrollment Deposit

Given these unsettling and uncertain times we want to assist families in anyway we can. We want you to know that you have a home on our campus and subsequently we are waiving the enrollment deposit for all admitted students. If you have aspirations of enrolling at Lake Superior State for Summer 2021 or Fall 2021, you merely need to let us know of your intent to enroll and your spot will be secured. Please submit the Lake Superior State University Enrollment Deposit Waiver Form.

  • Register for Housing

You may apply for University Housing at https://www.lssu.edu/housing/. Complete and submit your application as early as possible to receive priority housing based on your preferences. The Housing Office may be reached at or 906-635-2411.

  • FAFSA

Beginning October 1, students admitted for the fall semester can begin completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.  You can access information and submit the form online at fafsa.ed.gov.

  • Visit Campus!

If you haven’t already visited campus, make sure to. While on campus you’ll receive a guided tour by a Student Ambassador, meet with a faculty member from your desired major, go on an experiential learning tour in a variety of hands-on laboratories, and receive complimentary tickets to an athletic event (during season).

Make sure to sign up for a  LSSU Campus Tour

  • Log in to My.lssu

Your username and initial password are located in your Acceptance Letter.

Once you log in, make sure to also set up your LSSU Gmail account. Instructions are in your acceptance letter for the username and password. This is the email that the LSSU community will use to email you.

On the right hand side of the screen, that is where you will also find your Anchor Access account – where all of your academic and financial information is located. This is an important part of managing your student information at Lake Superior State, so be sure to get familiar with the information within.

  • Explore Anchor Access

You must log into your My.Lssu to access Anchor Access.

Anchor Access is the student portal where you will be able to do things like:

    • Register for classes/manage schedule
    • View and print class schedule
    • View any transfer credits you may have
    • Check degree progress – live time
    • Register your vehicle
    • View and accept financial aid
    • Create a payment plan
    • Submit your enrollment deposit
    • Make payments
    • View your academic advisor information
  • Review your Financial Aid Package

If you are offered a scholarship from LSSU, remember to accept your award on Anchor Access to secure your scholarship. You can speak directly to a Financial Aid Representative by phone at 906-635-2678 or email your questions to

  • Apply to the Honors Program

If eligible. Students with a high school G.P.A. of 3.1 and SAT score of 1150 are invited to apply to LSSU’s Honors Program.  There will be an opportunity to apply at Orientation, but you can apply early online.  The earlier you apply, the more likely you are to qualify to reside in Honors housing.

  • Move in, have fun, and take part in Laker Week activities!

Faculty, staff, and current students will be on hand to help you unload the car, carry your stuff, and even decorate your dorm room if you choose! Laker Week is a huge part of your transition to LSSU and includes academic and social activities to help you with a smooth transition into the campus community.
