Attending Orientation at LSSU

Yes, orientation is required for all new students (freshman, transfer, and non-traditional) attending our Sault Ste. Marie campus during the spring, summer, or fall semesters. Admission to LSSU must be complete to register and attend orientation.

During orientation you will…

  • Learn important policies and procedures that will help you succeed in your academic career.
  • Learn about the numerous university services that are available to you as an LSSU student.
  • Register for classes.
  • Have your picture taken and receive your Laker ID card.
  • Check out student organizations to get involved in as a Laker.
  • Become part of the Laker family!
Summer Orientation
  • Friday, May 9th, 2025
  • Class starts May 12th, 2025
  • This session is for New First Time & Transfer Students and anyone attending the Summer 2025 semester that has not signed up for classes.

Fall 25 Transfer Orientation
  • Friday, June 20, 2025 11am-4pm
  • Transfer Students – This session is for all Transfer students beginning in Fall 2025.

Fall 25 Orientations
  • June 9th – 10th (Monday-Tuesday)
  • June 12th – 13th (Thursday-Friday)
  • June 16th – 17th (Monday-Tuesday)
  • June 17th – 18th (Tuesday-Wednesday)
  • New First Time in College Students: Two-day New Student Orientations begin late morning on the first day and conclude early afternoon on the second.
  • All students reside on campus overnight as part of the program. Students will experience sessions from student life, academics, as well as clubs and organizations.
