LSSU’s Petoskey Regional Center offers a student-oriented approach to higher education. Our small class size, experienced faculty and the ability to pursue your educational dreams close to home are what the LSSU regional centers are all about. We are here for you – our students.

We are proud of the high-quality instruction we provide and of the personal attention that has always been a hallmark of the Lake Superior State University experience.

The LSSU Petoskey Regional Center is housed on the North Central Michigan College campus in Petoskey. For assistance in planning your educational goals, contact the Regional Centers Director. We can help answer your academic questions in areas of admissions requirements, scholarship/financial aid, counseling, course selection and registration for classes.

Accounting, B.S.

  • Prepare for a career in accounting by developing expertise in financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making. Adding the 150-credit hour concentration, this program includes a CPA-prep course and meets Michigan’s educational requirements for CPA licensure.
Business Administration, Accounting-Finance Minor, B.S.

  • Build a strong foundation in business with an emphasis in accounting and finance. LSSU’s Business Administration program develops well-rounded professionals with the knowledge and skills to succeed across all areas of business and prepares graduates for careers or advanced study in business.
Business Administration, International Business Minor, B.S.

  • Gain a global perspective on business with LSSU’s Business Administration program. Build a strong foundation in business concepts while developing the skills needed to succeed in today’s interconnected marketplace and pursue careers or advanced study in business.

Business Administration-Management, B.S.

  • Develop the leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in today’s business environment. LSSU’s Management program combines a strong business foundation with real-world experiences to prepare graduates for leadership, human resources, and management careers in business and nonprofit organizations.
Criminal Justice, Generalist Concentration, B.S.

  • Launch a rewarding career with LSSU’s Criminal Justice program. Gain practical knowledge through expert instruction, hands-on learning, and internships. The Generalist concentration is available at the regional center, with additional concentrations and MCOLES certification offered on the main campus.
General Studies, B.A./B.S.

  • Create a degree as unique as your goals with LSSU’s General Studies program. Combine two minors, two concentrations, or a combination of both to explore multiple areas of interest. Through interdisciplinary learning and a capstone project, you’ll develop the skills to adapt and succeed in a changing world.
Nursing, Post-Licensure Completion, B.S.

  • Advance your nursing career with LSSU’s online RN to BSN Completion program. Designed for licensed registered nurses, the program builds the knowledge and leadership skills needed to provide high-quality care across diverse healthcare settings. Flexible full- and part-time online options are available.
English Language Arts Teaching (Grades 5-12), B.A.

  • Inspire a lifelong love of reading and writing with LSSU’s English Education program. Gain a strong foundation in literature, teaching methods, and classroom practice to prepare for a rewarding career as an English teacher. LSSU’s educator preparation programs are CAEP accredited.
Mathematics, Secondary Teaching Grades 5-9, B.S.

  • Prepare to teach middle school mathematics with LSSU’s Mathematics Education program. Build a strong foundation in mathematics, technology, and effective teaching through hands-on classroom experiences. Graduates are prepared for certification to teach mathematics in grades 5–9.
Mathematics, Secondary Teaching Grades 7-12, B.S.

  • Turn your passion for mathematics into a teaching career. LSSU’s Mathematics Education program combines rigorous mathematics coursework, technology integration, and extensive classroom experience to prepare graduates for certification to teach mathematics in grades 7–12.
Teacher Education, Grade Band BK, B.S.

  • Prepare to support the growth and development of young children with LSSU’s Birth–Kindergarten Teacher Preparation program. Gain hands-on clinical experience while developing expertise in whole-child development, early childhood education, and developmentally appropriate teaching practices. LSSU’s educator preparation programs are CAEP accredited.

  • Prepare to teach and inspire young learners with LSSU’s PK–3 Teacher Preparation program. Social Emotional Learning, Certificate

  • Strengthen your ability to support the whole learner with LSSU’s Social Emotional Learning Certificate. Connect SEL theory to classroom practice while gaining practical strategies to foster inclusive learning environments and address students’ academic, social, and emotional needs.
Special Education Learning Disabilities, Minor

  • Develop the knowledge and skills to support students with learning disabilities in grades K–12. This flexible program can be paired with a teacher preparation degree, completed by licensed teachers seeking an LD endorsement, or taken by those interested in working with individuals with special needs.
