Acclaimed Canadian actor Gordon Pinsent will join the Sault Symphony Orchestra for a special presentation of Mendelssohn's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Pinsent will provide live narration of select passages of Shakespeare's beloved text, while the orchestra performs Mendelssohn's masterpiece. The orchestra will also be joined by the Chamber Singers of Algoma, and special guest soloists, LSSU choir director Karen Hughes-Beacom and LSSU retiree Maureen Delaney-Lehman. Felix Mendelssohn composed this music in 1826 after he read Shakespeare's play and enjoyed it so much and was inspired by it. The result is an incredible symphonic piece that includes the well-known "Wedding March," that is still frequently performed at marriage ceremonies today. Tickets are available at kctc.ca
