“Laker Success was my saving grace with the recent diagnosis of ADHD right before my last year of college, my hardest year, it was overwhelming to say the least. Graduation didn’t feel like it was reachable, but I contacted Laker Success and asked for help. Laker Success did everything they could to help. They did the research and we came up with systems that worked with my ADHD instead of against it. I had a weekly check-in for the majority of my last year and with the weekly check-in’s we broke down what I needed to do and it made classes more manageable. It decreased my feeling of overwhelm and made graduation feel attainable.”

About Laker Success
The Laker Success program is made possible through a competitive Select Student Support Services (4S) grant awarded through the Martin Luther King, Jr. – Dolores Huerta – Morris Hood Jr. – Rosa Parks (Special Programs) Initiative of the State of Michigan. The 4S Program is designed to develop retention programs to benefit students from academically or economically disadvantaged backgrounds who are enrolled at four-year public and independent educational institutions throughout Michigan.
The 4S Program aims to increase graduation rates by providing seed money to catalyze institutional change, stimulate more coordinated efforts within institutions, and permanently ensure measurable short- and long-term improvements in graduation rates of targeted students.
